Becon
Becon is a personal safety app that looks out for you on solo journeys. CodeLeap designed and built the whole product — the apps, the backend and the live-alert platform — monitoring each trip in the background and raising the alarm automatically if you go quiet.
What we did CodeLeap designed, built and ran the entire Becon product end to end — the iOS, Android and Apple Watch apps, the backend, and the web platform that handles live location and alerts.
Help, one tap away. People walking, running, cycling or travelling alone want to feel safe without constantly checking a phone. The idea behind Becon was an app that quietly watches over a journey and only steps in when it matters. CodeLeap built the whole product to do exactly that: mobile apps that track a trip's speed, motion and location, a backend that keeps monitoring running around the clock, and a web platform that shares a live location with trusted contacts the moment something goes wrong.
What we built

Automated journey monitoring
Once a journey starts, the app follows its speed, motion and location in the background. It spots the unusual changes that suggest an accident or incident, so you don't have to keep your phone in hand to stay protected.

Timed check-in and alerts
When something looks wrong, Becon sends a timed check-in asking you to confirm you're fine. If the timer runs out with no response, it alerts your key contacts with a live link to your latest location — no tapping needed.

Key contacts and live sharing
You choose the people who should be told if a journey goes wrong, and can share your live location and route with them when you want to. It keeps the right people informed without broadcasting your movements all the time.

iOS, Android and Apple Watch apps
CodeLeap built the product across iPhone, Android and Apple Watch, tuned to run reliably in the background and offline. Onboarding, profiles, subscriptions and payments were designed so anyone can set up their safety net in a couple of taps.
