Learning and education

Bespoke software and AI for education providers

We work with education providers on the software behind teaching and running a course, from enrolment and reporting to the learning experience itself.

Solutions we've built power teams at:

  • Amazon Web Services
  • Auto Trader
  • Cedars-Sinai
  • Jet2holidays
  • Jaguar Land Rover
  • Dover Street Market
  • Dexters
  • Lookers

What we build for education providers

Teaching is only part of what fills the week. Enrolment, reporting, tracking who has done what and answering the same question for the tenth time take up the rest. We build the software that takes that on, and the learning experience your students work through.

  • Learning platforms and course delivery

Off-the-shelf learning platforms work well until your course does something they were not designed for, and then the workarounds start. We design and build platforms that deliver your material the way it is meant to be taught, in your own branding, with the content in your team's hands.

  • Assessment, progress and certification tools

Marking, tracking progress and issuing certificates take real time, and they scale badly as numbers grow. We build assessment and progress tools that handle the repetitive part, show each learner where they are and produce the record of completion, with a person still deciding what counts as a pass.

  • Interactive and game-based learning

Most people have an idea for making the material stick that they have no way to build. We build the technology behind it, whether that is a daily challenge learners come back to, a simulation they practise in, or a guided path that adapts to how they are doing.

  • Automation for enrolment and administration

Enrolment, timetabling, reminders and the reports you owe a funder or a regulator all run on someone entering information that exists somewhere already. We look at where the hours go, then build automation for the parts that repeat, so teaching staff spend less of the week on paperwork.

  • Integrations between your existing systems

A student record system, a finance package, a learning platform and a mailing tool rarely share what they know, so the same details get typed in four times. We connect them so information moves on its own. Tools that already do their job well stay, and we build around them.

  • Reporting and outcome dashboards

You already hold years of information about attendance, results and who drops out and when, and most of it sits where nobody looks. We bring it together into dashboards and reports your team can read at a glance, and into the evidence a funder or an inspector asks for.

Built with education teams

A few projects we're proud to share, each one advancing our mission to raise the bar and build a better digital future with our clients.

  • AWS CloudRoom

Amazon's CloudRoom initiative pairs schools around the world with AWS employee volunteers who teach students about cloud technology, and doing that by hand across many territories was never realistic. CodeLeap built the platform behind it alongside creative agency Marble London, and it reached thousands of students in territories from Tokyo to Dubai to New York.

  • Blood, Sweat & Tears

Blood, Sweat & Tears is a London Lagree studio and training brand teaching a method made up of more than 550 distinct moves. CodeLeap built an AI-powered training platform that teaches and tests those moves and shows instructors how each learner is progressing.

  • Udokk

Udokk saw growing demand for trustworthy digital health content and had an extensive professional network ready to create it. CodeLeap built the platform where healthcare professionals publish scientific and educational video for practitioners, students and the public, and earn from it.

What our clients are saying

Real reviews from clients we have delivered for, on Clutch and elsewhere.

  • The enthusiasm, understanding of our mission, and passion from the first few minutes of the call were the deciding factors in choosing CodeLeap. Within 3 months of our app launching, we had over 1,500 downloads, appeared in leading publications from Forbes, The Metro, Marie Claire, Women's Fitness and many more, and started raising further investment.
    Charlie CEO, Becon
  • They are incredibly diligent in the quality of work they produce, and go above and beyond when it comes to solving issues faced within the project, and to ensure we meet strict project deadlines. You never feel like you are one of many clients, and they ensure they are always there to help with any need you have, no matter how big or small.
Amelia Parmiter Marketing Manager, AWS - Marble
  • CodeLeap made me feel like my options were limitless in terms of what could be achieved, which was critical to me as we were creating something very unique. I'm glad I chose Codeleap over a large corporation as the personable approach resulted in a smooth and pleasant experience.

  • CodeLeap adds so much value and goes above and beyond what I expected. CodeLeap's team is very flexible with all the different requests we've put in front of them. They've also been great with the whole business side of things, and being able to forecast for this industry is really helpful. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with their work — they've been incredibly helpful.

Any questions? We're here to answer

Everything you might want to know before starting a project with us.

  • Usually, yes, and it is easier when the questions come up at the start. We work through the data protection impact assessment with you, set out clearly who controls and who processes the data, name any sub-processors, and agree breach timescales in the contract. Hosting can sit in the UK, and encryption, access control and audit logging are built in rather than added at the end of the build.

  • An AI readiness assessment is £3,000 and takes a week, and it includes a verdict where AI is not worth the investment. Design and build of a first version starts at £5,000, and a full build from £15,000. Scope and price are fixed before the work starts, and payments follow finished stages, which keeps the spend inside a budget you have already set, with no per-student licence fee for software we write for you.

  • It stays yours. All code and intellectual property transfer to you on payment, and the information sits in a database you own, in standard formats you can export whenever you want. Deletion and return timescales are agreed in the contract before the work begins, which is what education procurement usually asks for. Continued support is available, and it is not a condition of keeping what has been built.

  • Usually, because the work is phased rather than delivered in one release. The first phase is scoped to be useful on its own, so a project can begin mid-year without a long wait for anything staff can use. Where a date cannot be met, that is established at scoping rather than discovered halfway through, with your term dates in front of us. Testing is planned around quieter weeks.

  • They use it when it removes work rather than adding it, so the first part of a project is spent watching how the week runs. A tool that adds to marking or registers gets abandoned, however good it looks in a demo. We design for the person with thirty minutes between lessons, and accessibility is part of that design. Training material and handover notes are part of what we deliver.

  • It depends on what you ask it to do, and the answer is set at scoping. AI is reasonable for marking practice work, suggesting resources and answering routine questions, with a person deciding anything that affects a grade or a record. Outputs are logged so you can show how a decision was reached. The £3,000 AI readiness assessment includes a verdict where AI is not worth the investment.
