Software we build for the automotive trade

Forecourts run on stock data, imagery and prep workflows — the systems below are where bespoke automotive software earns its keep for dealer groups and remarketers.

  • Vehicle imaging pipelines

Proven over a multi-year engagement: capture apps that guide each shot as it's taken, then computer vision that strips backgrounds, stitches interactive 360-degree spins and flags defective images automatically — so every photo reaches the listing consistent, with nobody checking each one by hand.

  • Stock and listing plumbing

We build the connectors between your DMS, your website and the marketplaces you advertise on, so a vehicle is entered once and its details, price and photos stay in step everywhere. No re-keying between systems, and no stale adverts still showing a sold car.

  • Vehicle prep tracking

We build dashboards that follow each vehicle from arrival to forecourt — inspection, workshop, valet, photography — with every stage and bottleneck visible at a glance, so days-to-sale stops depending on someone walking the compound with a clipboard.

  • Aftersales reminders

We build automated MOT, service and renewal reminders drawn from your own sales and workshop records, sent at the right moment with a booking link — so lapsed customers come back to you rather than to whoever emailed them first.

Our automotive work

Two write-ups from one multi-year automotive engagement, plus the closest neighbouring automation. First, the vehicle imaging platform: capture apps in operators' hands, and a computer vision pipeline behind them handling background removal, 360° spins and automated quality control. Second, the automated video generation built on top of it — branded walkaround videos composed in code and rendered serverlessly on AWS, an engine we benchmarked at roughly 500 videos a day. Third, from an adjacent sector, a full sales-cycle automation — lead capture through to signed contract — the kind of pipeline a dealership's sales and aftersales run on. The client behind the imaging work stays unnamed; the capability doesn't.

  • Vehicle imaging platform

An end-to-end vehicle imaging platform for a company in automotive photography. CodeLeap built the capture apps and the computer-vision pipeline that removes backgrounds, builds 360-degree spins and checks every image automatically.

  • Automated vehicle video generation

Branded walkaround videos for vehicle listings, generated entirely in code. CodeLeap built the render API, the slide and effect library and the serverless AWS pipeline that turn a listing's approved photos into a finished video — no editor involved.

Any questions? We're here to answer

Everything you might want to know before starting a project with us.

  • Usually, yes. Most DMS platforms expose an API or scheduled exports, and we build around whichever yours offers — pulling stock, customer and service records into the new tool rather than asking staff to re-key them. We confirm exactly what your DMS makes available during scoping, before a price is agreed. And if the DMS already handles the job well on its own, we'll tell you that rather than build a duplicate.

  • Large parts of it, yes. Over a multi-year engagement with a company in automotive imaging, we built capture apps that guide photographers through every shot, plus a computer-vision pipeline that removes backgrounds, builds 360-degree spins and quality-checks each image against a defined standard. Photographers still take the photos; the software makes them consistent and catches defects at a volume no team could review by eye. That client sits under NDA, so the write-up is anonymised.

  • Yes — we've built exactly that, for the same imaging client. A rendering engine assembles each vehicle's approved photos into a finished, branded walkaround video — every slide, label and transition generated in code, with animated highlights driven by the platform's own object detection — benchmarked at roughly 500 videos a day even before rendering moved serverlessly to AWS Lambda, and it ran in production for years with no editor in the loop.

  • Projects start from £5,000 — a single DMS connector or reminder automation sits at that end, while an imaging pipeline or full dealer platform costs more. Whatever the scope, we agree a fixed price before work starts, so the number you sign off is the number you pay. We've delivered 50+ projects since 2019, hold a 4.9 rating on Clutch, and the code and IP are yours once the work is delivered and paid for.

  • Often, yes. A typical build takes around three months, so a project scoped in autumn can be live for the March plate change, and one scoped in spring for September. If the deadline is fixed, we shape the scope around it — launch the piece that matters for the registration rush first, then add the rest afterwards. You'll know the timeline before you commit, not after.

  • It's a solvable problem, and one we've solved before. In our automotive video work, number plates are blurred or substituted inside the video frames automatically, validated by keypoint detection, so nothing identifying reaches a public listing. The same thinking applies to any imagery pipeline we build for you: decide upfront what must never be published, then enforce it in software instead of relying on someone spotting it.
