Fix My House

A UK founder came to CodeLeap to turn an idea into a working product: a two-sided marketplace where homeowners post jobs and contractors bid for them. We designed both sides of the app and built the MVP, from job posting through milestone payments to dispute resolution.

What we did CodeLeap designed and built the MVP of a two-sided home-improvement marketplace — the homeowner and contractor apps, plus milestone payments and dispute handling.

Hiring a tradesperson for home repairs is still a fragmented, word-of-mouth process, and getting paid fairly is just as hard for the trades. A UK founder saw a better way and partnered with CodeLeap to build it. We designed and built a two-sided marketplace app: one side for homeowners to post jobs and manage them, one side for contractors to find work and bid, with milestone payments and a clear way to settle disputes tying the two together.

What we built

  • Homeowner and contractor apps

Two connected experiences from one product. Homeowners describe a job, review bids and track progress; contractors set up a profile, browse available work and manage the jobs they win — each side built for how that user actually works.

  • Job posting and contractor discovery

Homeowners post a job and either invite contractors or use a 'find contractors for me' flow with a map view to surface nearby trades. Contractors browse and bid, so the right people reach each job instead of chasing leads.

  • Milestone payments

Larger jobs are split into milestones, so money is released as work is completed rather than all up front. This protects homeowners' cash flow and gives contractors a dependable, staged way to get paid across a project.

  • Dispute resolution and mediation

When something goes wrong, a 'report a problem' flow first steers both parties to talk it out, then escalates to a mediation path with admin involvement — keeping payment disputes contained and giving both sides a fair route to a resolution.

Why this matters to you:

The result is a marketplace that handles the whole job, from posting and bidding to staged payment and dispute resolution, in one product. For the founder, it turned a concept into a working MVP across both sides of the market — a foundation ready to take to users and investors and grow from.
