Go Quest Adventures

Go Quest Adventures runs self-guided treasure hunts across UK cities. CodeLeap is their engineering team, building and looking after the whole product: the mobile app players use on the day, the website where quests are bought, and the Django backend and CMS the team runs it all from.

What we did CodeLeap is Go Quest Adventures' engineering team, building and maintaining the whole product — the mobile quest app, the marketing website and checkout, and the Django backend and admin CMS behind them.

Go Quest Adventures — Web platform case study Turn a city into a quest.

Go Quest Adventures turns a city walk into an outdoor escape room — teams follow clues, solve puzzles and take on challenges with no guide and no set start time. Delivering that reliably, and selling it city after city, needs a proper product behind it: an app for players, a site for buying quests, and a backend to manage every quest, price and booking. CodeLeap builds and maintains that whole platform, and continues to evolve it across cities including York, Cambridge, Brighton and Edinburgh.

What we built

  • Self-guided quest app

Players get clues on their phone and work through puzzles and photo challenges at their own pace, with scoring and leaderboards. It runs offline and syncs when back online, and keeps every player on a team in step with their leader.

  • Admin CMS for the client

A Django admin lets the Go Quest team manage quests, questions, cities, pricing and content themselves — the operational source of truth for gameplay, payments and redemption — so launching or editing a quest needs no developer.

  • Website, checkout and catalogue

The marketing site lets visitors browse quests across a growing list of UK cities, buy for up to five players under one purchase and pay online, with an editorial layer for SEO and per-city landing pages that scale as new locations are added.

  • Ongoing maintenance and evolution

CodeLeap keeps the platform running and improving — releases, bug fixes, infrastructure moves and new features across app, web and backend — so quests stay reliable through the busy summer season and the product keeps growing.

Why this matters to you:

Go Quest Adventures can sell and run treasure hunts in city after city without putting a guide on the ground, and manage the whole operation themselves through the admin. With CodeLeap maintaining the app, website and backend as one platform, the business has a dependable technical team it can keep building on.
