Baandy
Baandy set out to reinvent travel: a community where people swap their homes for free instead of paying for accommodation. CodeLeap designed and built the mobile app that makes it work — browsing, matching, messaging, verification and notifications — and keeps it running.
What we did CodeLeap designed and built Baandy's cross-platform home-swap mobile app — matching, messaging, verification and notifications on a Django/AWS backend — and maintains it under a monthly contract.
Swap homes. Travel free. Booking a place to stay usually means paying a platform and trusting a stranger you'll never meet. Baandy wanted a different model: a community where members swap their own homes for free, keeping the comfort of a private stay without the cost. Making that safe and easy needed a proper mobile product — matching, messaging, verification and notifications all working together. Baandy partnered with CodeLeap to design and build the app across iOS and Android, and to keep it maintained.
What we built
-
Browsing and matching
Members set up their home and preferences, then browse and match with places to swap. The swipe-based interface makes finding a mutual match quick, whether you own, rent or share your home.
-
In-app messaging
Once two members are interested, they arrange the details in a built-in chat. Keeping conversations inside the app means plans, dates and questions stay in one place, without swapping personal contact details too early.
-
Verification and trust
Handing over your home takes trust, so profiles carry identity verification and badges, and members can report problems from inside the app. Both sides can see who they're swapping with and travel with more confidence.
-
Notifications
Push notifications keep members up to date on new matches, messages and swap requests, so nothing gets missed and conversations keep moving without anyone having to check the app constantly.
Why this matters to you:
The result is a home-swap app people can actually trust, where matching, messaging and verification all happen in one place. Instead of paying to travel, members stay in real homes for free — and CodeLeap continues to maintain and extend the app under an ongoing monthly partnership.
